"Thank you for preserving the Italian culture by having it recorded in a book for generations to come. Italian-Americans need to know their heritage and be proud of their ancestors and themselves. You have clearly identified the first families to settle in Baltimore and brought that knowledge to the modern era. The photographs were fantastic." Andrew Lioi

"Thank you for documenting such great memories." Kristi James

"My late father was Frank Pannoni and I wish he were here to see your latest book. My mom will love it as she spent a great deal of her life in Little Italy." Michele Sarris

Books promote and celebrate the Italian immigrant history and heritage, Italian culture, Baltimore's Italian American community, and Little Italy events.

BALTIMORE'S LITTLE ITALY: Heritage and History of The Neighborhood + complimentary vintage festival pin

$16.99

Complimentary vintage festival pin with purchase ... Before outdoor films, mouth watering cuisine and the spectacle of bocce brought thousands of visitors to its streets, Baltimore’s Little Italy was a haven for generations of immigrants. With Saint Leo’s Church at its heart, The Neighborhood is a place where lifelong friendships are forged and nicknames are serious business. The community still celebrates the Feast of Saint Anthony Italian Festival in tribute to the saint who was credited with saving the neighborhood from the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904. As sons went to the front during both world wars, families pulled together during the hard times. With memories of beloved local figures like Marion “Mugs” Mugavero and artist Tony DeSales, interviews with lifelong locals and a few classic recipes, author Suzanna Rosa Molino creates a spirited history of this enduring Italian community.

THE ITALIAN IMMIGRANTS' DAUGHTER (by mother & daughter) - 5 in stock; + complimentary vintage festival pin

$9.99

If you grew up with a nonna, you will relate to these stories written by mother and daughter raised by Italian immigrants - in the forefront, Antonica Cabras Mossa from Sardinia, Italy. Gina Mossa Molino, 87, shares anecdotes of growing up in the 1930-40s in Brooklyn, New York and on the island of Sardinia under strict Italian immigrant parents and grandparents. In 1946 at age 12, she was plucked from American life and shipped across the ocean with her two siblings and mamma Antonica after their papa Giovanni died tragically in Baltimore.

Her daughter, Suzanna Rosa Molino, then shares memories of growing up with Nonna Antonica, using vintage photos, amusing and emotional anecdotes, and describing the continued connection today with their large Mossa famiglia still in Sardinia.

Testimonials on Baltimore's Little Italy
"My 90-year-old father has been reading this book since it arrived. He keeps saying, 'This is a wonderful book. Thank you for getting this for me.' He says it's like going back to his youth. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this gift for my dad who was born at 207 S. High Street and raised in Little Italy until he went into the service during WWII. His name appears on the plaque on the side of Saint Leo's along with the young men who served their country during WWII [and WWI]. That was definitely the greatest generation." ~ Bruno Conticello

"I must tell you that you did a magnificent job! You covered all the bases. I commend you for the personal touches, accuracy and everything else that blends a historic and personal tale as a very touching adventure. Thank you and I applaud your masterful effort."
